Solidarity with Palestine in Oporto

In a joint initiative of CPPC (Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation), CGTP-IN (General Confederation of Portuguese Workers)  and MPPM (Portuguese Movement for the Rights of the Palestinian People and for Peace in the Middle East), joined by other organizations, many dozens of people gathered in Palestine Square, in Oporto, to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.

Maria Spínola, Cristina Nogueira (CGTP-IN), José António Gomes (MPPM), and Ilda Figueiredo (CPPC) spoke at the meeting.

The speeches underlined the urgency of saying no to aggression, occupation and humiliation by Israel, which continues to disrespect international law and the rights of the Palestinian people, and demanded the Portuguese government and all governments to fulfill what they proclaim and promise, putting an end to connivance.

It was considered that the Portuguese government has an obligation to recognize the State of Palestine and condemn the crimes of Israel, with the certainty that Palestine will Win!
